"I’m locked, I can’t collect any more cherries."

➡️The game isn’t very clear about this, but you first need to try going into the forest to trigger a dialogue and unlock the woodcutter. Then you’ll need to buy a beer and give it to him.

• Characters & Terrain : We used the incredible Tiny Swords asset pack by Pixel Frog. We initially used them as placeholders, but ran out of time to replace them entirely before the deadline!
• UI & Other Visuals : Created from scratch
• Audio & Music : 100% original, composed and crafted from scratch in-house

The Story

You are an adventurous, but heavily drinking knight. While your brother stays safe at the local tavern brewing drinks, you are the one exploring the dangerous wild to gather missing ingredients. There is just one catch: you need a lot of "liquid courage" to face the monsters outside.

The Mechanics

Your bravery is directly tied to your blood alcohol level!

• As you explore the wild, your courage gauge (your intoxication) slowly depletes
• When you completely sober up, you regain your lucidity, panic at the danger, and automatically flee back to the safety of the tavern
• To continue your adventure, you must bring the fruits you collected to your brother so he can brew new beers
• Drink up, get drunk, and head back out to see how far your liquid courage will take you!

Controls

• Arrow Keys : Move
• Enter : Action / Continue Dialogues
• Approach the tavern characters to interact with them

Wildcards Used

• FUEL : The intoxication gauge is a finite resource that acts as your courage. It drains constantly and must be refilled by drinking brews.
• BERRY SO MUCH : Explore the world to collect various fruits. Your brother uses them to craft different beer variants, each granting unique attributes for your next run.
• WHAT YEAR IS THIS? : We embraced a nostalgic retro aesthetic, complete with original pixel art and custom 8-bit music and sound effects crafted from scratch!
